"I write for the fun of it. Poetry is such a beautiful thing, and stories? Well, as a child, I would often tell fake stories to my little sister and friends, I had a way of making them sound real and funny. So yeah, I guess I've always been a teller."

Mmokut Leo Uttah
Role:  Editor-in-Chief
University of Ibadan, Nigeria

Mmokutimabasi Uttah is my given name. I am a content and creative writer who expresses myself through the words I write.

I work as a journalist for the University of Ibadan's journalism team.

My father reading from the pages of
"Adam and the Apple Turnover" to my brother and I every time he came home from work is one of my earliest recollections. I had the book's words etched in my mind and heart by the age of three, and I have never looked back since. Words have always carried more weight for me than what one might call an appeal. I live through words—my own story, the stories of my friends, and the tales of total strangers. It is the cause for my existence.
