I'm not short, I'm just... (Abeg free meπŸ˜‚)

Omoh, I have been ridiculed and body shamed too much for one life timeπŸ˜‚πŸ€£

I remember in high school, I suffered acne (acne— big word for giant pimples) plus I also had smaller pimples that were also dragging for space with the bigger pimples... (All this happened on my face), though now, the pimples are gone but some of the scars are still there.

But I was short, skinny and started growing beards in ss1 (a terrible combination) πŸ˜‚ it affected the way I viewed my self, I was always very shy.

My God, wetin save me for high school then na say I Sabi book, come dae funny.

Body dysmorphic disorder is a mental health condition in which you can't stop thinking about one or more perceived defects or flaws in your appearance — a flaw that appears minor or can't be seen by others. But you may feel so embarrassed, ashamed and anxious that you may avoid many social situations.

yes, there's a word for it 😌 I feel that's part of the problem— people are quick to name certain things; but naming it makes it a "thing" makes it more real and we become more conscious of the problem.

Sadly, in high school I was ashamed of the way I looked, so much so when people said they liked me, I often felt they were lying, cause I felt there was nothing to like...

Looking at myself now, I've come to realize that it was all a thing of the mind (my mind was deeply affected by what people said about my looks and it further worsened everything because not only was I being told that the pimples on my face made me look ugly, I lived with the consciousness) 😩

Currently, I don't have pimples on my face anymore and I finally don't have to be ashamed of my beards...

Honestly, loving God has taught me to love every inch of my body, every ounce of my flesh❤️

He loved me, and gave his son to die for me; this boy who'd been called short, too old for his age, with a  pimples-ridden face— He loved me with reckless abandon.

Picture taken in 2018, I had my beards shaved then cause I had to work in a church office immediately after I graduated from high school.
